Valve confirmed at its Steam Dev Days event that twelve new currencies would be introduced into its Steam digital distribution service in 2014 for many big countries including Australia, Ukraine, Canada, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and many more.

Steam is the biggest digital distribution service out there, and Valve has so far supported only a few currencies in the storefront, in the form of U.S. Dollars, Euros, British Pounds, Brazilian Reals, and Russian Rubles.

For 2014, the company wants to add a whopping 12 more currencies to its service, according to a slide from the Steam Dev Days event that was posted on Twitter.

While the shot is a bit blurry, it seems that the following currencies will be supported: Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Indonesian Rupiah, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollar, Malaysian Ringgut, Mexican Peso, Philippines Peso, Singaporean Dollar, South Korean Won, Thai Baht, and Ukrainian Hryvna.

It's unclear when these new currencies will be added, so expect to hear more soon enough.
