The device will be marketed in Asia, but it’s quite possible it will ship worldwide

Chinese manufacturer Chuwi already made some headlines in the past, by rolling out tablets with designs reminiscent of the iPad mini or the Oppo smartphone.

Well, if the iPad mini clone wasn't enough for you, Chuwi goes on to replicate the looks of older iPad models with its latest slate, the V99X.

As PadHz reports, this is a pretty capable tablet and unlike its US counterpart, it comes with a ridiculous $180 / €131 price-tag.

The new V99X sports a 9.7-inch screen with a Retina Display (2048 x 1546 pixels) and uses the ever-present quad-core Rockchip RK3188 chip we have seen in so many tablets, combined with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Other highlights of the tablet include the huge 9500 mAh which should power your tablet forever and the 3G data card support offered by Huawei, meaning users will probably be able to place phone calls with it.

There’s also Wi-Fi on board and an unidentified operating system (most likely Android). Last but not least, the X99X is pretty sleek, with its 7.9 mm / 0.3 inches frame. We don’t know if the tablet will ever make it out of China, but paying $180 / €131 for a Retina Display tablet sounds good indeed.
