The latest Chrome Beta, version 15.0.874.100, has been released in order to fix a set of problems related to buffering. It includes optimizations for HTML5 media elements and it introduces an improved omnibox, ready to recognize an increased number of inputs.

Buffering issues solved in this edition should have a major impact on video startup latency. Omnibox has extended its abilities and improved parsing heuristics, allowing unknown inputs with non-host elements to be displayed as possible navigation options.

In plain terms, besides searching or punching in web addresses, the Omnibox can now be used for to navigate to intranet hosts.

Another problem fixed in the Omnibox is that it incorrectly entered in search mode. This bug made itself known when the Omnibox search would start with the keyword for the default search engine.

Crashes and hangs occurring under certain conditions have also been solved in this release of Chrome Beta.
