Chrome OS beta channel users are getting an update. For once, all devices, all the Chromebooks and the Chromebox, are getting updated at the same time.

However, Chrome OS users are still stuck with Chrome 23, while everyone else got upgraded to Chrome 24 already.

Chrome OS users are regularly left behind, so it's not much of a surprise. The latest update, with Chrome 23.0.1271.94, part of Chrome OS 2913.224.0, doesn't bring a lot to the table.

Some network stability fixes should be welcomed by all users. There's also a new version of the bundled Flash Player 11.3.31.519, but only for the ARM builds, i.e. for the new Samsung Chromebook that Google's been promoting heavily lately.

The Dev channel has already been updated to Chrome 25, so Chrome 24 may actually be skipped entirely in Chrome OS.

Still, Google promises to bring all of its platforms in line sometime next year, so desktop, Android and Chrome OS will be running the same Chrome version at the same time.
