Although most companies have been going out of their way to provide newer and more interesting products for the holidays, whether they were new desktops or laptops, or even stand alone components like graphics cards, CPUs or motherboards, Spire decided to keep it simple and just go with what works in any all situations, whether it's the holiday season or no. Its latest product is a versatile CPU cooler which, although not really a breakthrough in the area of heat management, will gladly keep a tab on any CPU's overheating tendencies.

Since CPUs are known for their ability to heat up, Spire's cooling solution is made capable of addressing the needs of a wide variety of central processing units, whether they are Intel or AMD-based. Among the supported CPUs are Intel's LGA 775, 1156, and 1366 to AMD's Socket 939, AM2/AM2+ and AM3 chips. The TherMax Eclipse draws the heat out of the chip through its five U-Shaped direct touch 8mm copper heatpipes. These pipes then pass on the heat to then 46 aluminum fins which, after dispersing the heat, are cooled down by a strong and constant airflow delivered by the two ball bearing fans which spin at 2,200 rotations per minute. The fans are high quality, long MTBF Japanese ball bearing 120mm BlackStar spinners which have a sound output of 29dBA, and they are mounted by use of Anti-Vibe universal rubber fan mounts.

No clear details about exactly when the product will start shipping have been given, but what is known is that the product will become available next month. This means that actual shipments may begin as soon as next week. The product will include TherMax Eclipse heat-sink, two (2) BlackStar 120mm DC fans, 8 Anti-Vibe rubber fan mounts, a BlueFrost thermal interface compound, an Intel universal mounting set or AMD universal mounting set, a motherboard back-plate, a user installation manual, and a warranty registration card.
