Looks like Pioneer has completed a new optical disk drive unit, one that supports pretty much every disk format out there, down to the latest and most capacious Blu-ray.

For those that don't remember, the newest and baddest Blu-ray format is called BDXL and, depending on how many layers a disk has, it offers 100GB or 128 GB.

Those disks can be written at 6X with the new product from Pioneer, whose name is BDR-S07.

Meanwhile, double and triple-layer BD-RE disks work at 2X tops.

Needless to say, Pioneer's product can put data on every DVD and CD format you can think of (probably).

As for design, the BDR-S07 looks like every other ODD out there and has a matte black bezel (BDR-S07-KR), a white one (BDR-S07-W) or a piano-black color (BDR-S07-BK). All of them sell for $328 / 250 Euro.
