14 DAY TRIAL // Michael Bay has just been outdone. A while ago, Hasbro agreed to have a movie made of Battleship, one of the most simple and popular games out there, sending movie buffs into disbelief. The second trailer is bound to answer a lot of questions.
Because the game usually has 2 players trying to sink each other's ships, it was considered impossible to make a decent film based on it.
Not if you throw aliens into the mix.
The second trailer for “Battleship,” produced and directed by Peter Berg (“Hancock”), barely hints at how huge the scope of the film is.
Not only is this a battle between aliens and the Navy, but it's one that is fought on an international scale with explosions that must make Michael Bay, the uncrowned king director of explosions, turn green with envy.
As if that wasn't enough, it also features several actors and actresses whose faces you might or should recognize. Featured prominently in this second trailer are Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna and Alexander Skarsgard.
“Battleship” is out on May 18, 2012 and it's bound to make a killing at the box office in the manner of “Transformers,” industry insiders estimate.
