Voltaic Systems, i.e. a manufacturer of solar chargers for smartphones, laptops and all sorts of other electronic equipment, has launched a new BOGO (Buy One Give One) campaign.

The initiative is meant to help people in the Philippines recover from the typhoon Haiyan experience by providing them with access to electricity.

Here's how the campaign works: for each 3.4 Watt Solar Power and Light Kit that is bought, another one is sent to the Philippines' Leyte Province.

The solar chargers are scheduled to leave for the Philippines on December 4. According to Voltaic Systems, “These chargers will power phones for vital communications in villages without power.”

Hoping to get more people to support this BOGO campaign, Voltaic Systems has agreed to drop the Solar Power and Light Kit's price from $85 (€62.5) to $59 (€43.4).

Those interested in getting one such eco-friendly solar charger for their gadgets and gizmos, and lend a helping hand to the people in Philippines, need only head over to Voltaic Systems to learn more about the project and offer their support to this initiative.
