New Assassin's Creed: Revelations Video Shows Off Tower Defense Gameplay

The upcoming Assassin's Creed: Revelations title is set to include quite a lot of surprises for fans in terms of gameplay, the latest of which being a sort of Tower Defense mode, called Den Defense.

In it, the hero, Ezio Auditore, uses his strategy skills to place and guide the attacks of his assassin brothers against the legions of enemy Templars, who threaten to invade their Assassin's Den.

Besides placing forces on top of rooftops or guiding their attacks on the ground, Ezio can call in canon shots or even set up barricades to fend off the waves of Templar forces.

This is definitely a peculiar turn for the series, but, as you can see in the video above, it looks quite interesting, and is no doubt a welcome change of pace from the regular and still equally bloody adventures of Ezio Auditore.

Expect more such surprises in the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which is out on November 15, in North America, and November 18, in Europe, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and sometime in December for the PC.
