New Assassin's Creed Game Gets Detailed in May

During Ubisoft's financial results conference, its CEO, Yves Guillemot, confirmed that the company is going to release a brand new Assassin's Creed game this year, and that more details will be available in May.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise has been growing by leaps and bounds these last few years, with its second full-pledged iteration and the latest Brotherhood earning it a massive and loyal fan base.

Brotherhood, for instance, managed to ship 6.5 million copies since its release back in November, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Now, the company is getting ready to release another Assassin's Creed title, which was previously teased before the start of 2011.

"We will have an Assassin's Creed this year... We are going to give you more details in May," Guilletmot said to investors.

He then confirmed that the new game would be a "packaged title," meaning that it won't be a smaller, downloadable iteration or anything like that.

Sadly for Assassin's Creed fans, the Ubisoft CEO declined to offer any more information, saying that official details are going to be released in May of this year.

What's more, Guillemot didn't say when exactly we should expect the new game, as it can either be launched during the end of the 2011 calendar year, just like the rest of the games before it, or at the end of the 2011 fiscal year, meaning the first quarter of 2012.

Still, the important fact is that Ubisoft is set to release another Assassin's Creed game soon, so your thirst for killing important historical figures will be satisfied this year as well.

Ubisoft said on multiple occasions that the key of the franchise's success is that many of its international studios are working together on it, under the overall guidance of Ubisoft Montreal, so the development and release of a game in just a year is something doable.

The company even assured fans that this yearly release schedule won't dilute the franchise, as it will continue to offer quality experiences for many years to come.
