The App Catalog is growing

Palm Pre mobile phone owners have now a reason to rejoice, as two more applications for the handset's webOS have been added to the App Catalog. The first of them is OpenTable, which enables users to make restaurant reservations at nearby places, while the second one is Fliq Bookmarks, a utility that comes from Mark/Space.

The good news is that more software solutions are making their way into the application portal, which means that the recently announced availability of the Mojo SDK for the Palm webOS might begin to pan out. The number of applications available through the App Catalog is a small one at the moment, compared to other similar services, yet it seems that not all is lost.

As for the two new additions, OpenTable enables users to employ the popular restaurant reservation service, while also offering them the possibility to search for restaurants close to their location that still have available tables, while also integrating the reservation directly into their calendar. The application can be downloaded via Palm's App Catalog for free.

The second app added to the offering is Fliq Bookmarks, a utility that works with The Missing Sync for Palm Pre. The fresh software solution enables users to transfer Safari bookmarks from their desktop computer directly to the Pre. For the time being, the application (and the utility, obviously) only works on Mac computers, though it is expected to become available for PCs in the near future.

These might not be great applications for the newly launched Palm Pre and its WebOS platform, yet other software solutions should surface. Things seem to have started to move into the right direction and that was and still is a must, given the fact that Pre users are reportedly application-hungry consumers.
