The Android operating system has attracted yet another company on its side, and a brand new mobile phone running under the platform is getting ready to become available on the market, the Geeks'Phone 'One'. The new device or, better yet, the first signs that it was in the works were spotted about a month ago, and now a few more details on it have surfaced, showing that the handset might become reality in the not-so-distant future.

Geeks'Phone recently held a press event in Barcelona, Spain, where the phone was presented to the attendees, and a series of details on its specifications were unveiled as well. For starters, we should mention that the device comes with Android 1.5 Cupcake, and that it is also eligible for upgrade to the upcoming Android 2.0 Donut iteration of the platform when it becomes available on the market.

The new Android handset, which the Spanish mobile phone maker has dubbed 'One', is powered by a 625 MHz Marvell PXA310 Processor and sports a large 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen display. In addition, it also comes with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, as well as with a front-facing camera to enable video calling.

Other specs of the device also include a mini-USB port, quad-band EDGE and GSM / UMTS / HSDPA connectivity options, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, AGPS and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. For what it's worth, the specs seem to be rather nice for the device, and some Android enthusiasts will surely love it, especially since the company says that the Geeks'Phone 'One' will come with root access to the phone right out of the box.

According to the company, the handset should hit the shelves sometime this fall, featuring a price tag of around $350 to $425 unlocked (250 and 300 Euros). More photos with the device can be found here.
