Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has started to push out a new software update for the HTC One smartphone, so as to provide users with fixes for some of the bugs found in the previous firmware available on the handset.

The new release comes to devices as software version 4.19.401.11 and should replace the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update that was pulled several weeks back due to undisclosed “difficulties.”

According to a recent post on Android Central, the new update has started to arrive as a 205MB download, and it is already available on some HTC One devices in Europe.

Moreover, HTC One M7_U / PN0711000 is also receiving the new build, but gets it as ROM version 4.19.401.5, a tweet coming from LlabTooFeR unveils. The tipster also claims that Vodafone UK's version of the device will receive it as build number 4.19.161.11.

According to the changelog attached to the new software release, HTC has packed it with support for “more routers,” which suggests that the initial release was pulled due to incompatibility with certain Wi-Fi equipment.

The update should appear as available on HTC One devices in various European countries, including Nordic ones. Users can manually check on its availability through going to Settings > About phone > Software updates.

One thing that they should keep in mind, however, is the fact that the update will most probably roll out in phases, which means that some of them won’t see it as available right from the beginning. Moreover, carrier-branded HTC One units might have to wait longer before being updated, as it usually happens.
