Just now, Amazon has made available new firmware packages targeted at some of its Kindle Fire HD and HDX devices, namely versions 11.3.2.1, 13.3.2.1, and 14.3.2.1 developed for the Kindle Fire HD 2nd-gen, HDX, and HDX 8.9 tablets, respectively.

These newly released versions add the ability to create flashcards, so that you can learn even more about key terms and concepts in a Kindle Print Replica textbook. This feature can be accessed by tapping the center of the page (while reading) and then selecting “Flashcards.”

In addition to that, the two compatible Kindle Fire HDX units will now be able to encrypt accounts, settings, and downloaded apps, and all the related data from your Kindle.

In order to use this option, go to Quick Settings → Settings → Security → Lock Screen Password, and select the “On” option. This will give you the possibility to create passwords from a simple numeric PIN, to more advanced combinations of letters, numbers, and even special characters.

As for installing the updates, simply get the downloadable .bin file, copy it onto the root folder of your Kindle’s internal storage, and go to Quick Settings → Settings → Device → System Updates → Update.

At this point, the Kindle will automatically restart and show an “Installing system update” message, which means that the device has started the upgrade process and must not be interrupted in any way (serious damage can be encountered in the event of an update crash).

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Kindle device, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply the latest firmware version, and enjoy the benefits that the new release brings.
