It has a large radiator with room for two 140 mm fans

Central processing units and accelerated processing units always ship with a cooler or other, but there are plenty of custom fansinks and water coolers that can be installed in their stead. Swiftech has just unveiled one of the latter.

There are many reasons why one would want to replace the stock cooler with something else, provided that they have the money to spare.

Superior cooling effectiveness is the first and most obvious reason. Another is that standalone coolers usually run much more silently than the ones shipped with the chips themselves.

Then there's liquid cooling technology, which is even more silent, depending on how many fans are involved in the cooling of the water. Also, much, much better at keeping heat down.

All-in-One liquid coolers are a special sort of liquid coolers which don't need you to set up some sophisticated system involving a pump, reservoir, water blocks and whatever else.

Instead, they have all the standard parts connected from the onset, are much smaller than DIY liquid cooling systems turn out, and most relevantly, behave like air coolers. You take them out of the box, install them and voila! Nothing else to bother with.

This cooler is factory pre-filled and has a warranty of three years, though it should last for much, much longer if you don't toss it around or drop it for whatever reason.

It relies on a patent-pending technology in which the pump is fully integrated into the radiator instead of the water block.

Speaking of the radiator, it is made of copper and brass and is cooled by a pair of fans with a diameter of 140 mm each. Between it and the backlit reservoir with visible coolant level, it should be easy enough to chill any processor. Finally, the part that comes into contact with the CPU/APU is an Apogee XL waterblock.

Everything should work without making too much sound, if any. Swiftech wanted the H240-X all-in-one CPU liquid cooling kit to appeal to everyone, “from casual to hard-core enthusiasts.”

Price and availability

The Swiftech H240-X all-in-one CPU liquid cooler ships factory pre-filled for the price of $149.95 / €118.65. You should be able to replace the tubes and fittings easily enough, if you're the sort of enthusiast who likes to do that sort of thing. You can even connect graphics cards or extra radiators to the same pump.
