The Xenomorphs go portable

Guess what we're going to get for Christmas? Could it be Final Fantasy XIII? Metal Gear Solid 4? A free PS3 console? None of them, as Twentieth Century Fox has another present: the new Aliens Versus Predator movie, which will be released on December 25.

That's not even half of the good news we're about to deliver, as Sierra Entertainment has stated that they will release a PSP game related to the newest AVP movie. It turns out that the title will be a PSP exclusive, so all you PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers that loved the Alien series are out of luck if you're hoping to play a new Alien Versus Predator game.

You'll get to play as the fierce Predator and watch him go crazy on your PSP's display, as he hunts members of the Alien species. Rebellion is the developer of the game and you might have heard the name of the company before, because they also created the original Aliens Versus Predator PC game. Should we be pessimistic when we hear such news? Well, I guess we should, since all of the game-movie tie-ins were mediocre or worse this year.

Just look at Transformers, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfers, Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End, Spider-Man 3 and the list could go on and on, as many other games launched just in time to take advantage of the movie premieres were total failures. Will Rebellion create another title that fits the above-mentioned list? We'll wait and see, but one can only hope for the best, especially because the PSP games have a tendency of not being able to disappoint the fans. If the new AVP has a multiplayer mode, you can already count me as one of its biggest fans, even before its launch...
