Desktops don't sell that much, because people like to build their own out of retail-available parts, so only business or gaming rigs ever actually sell. All-in-One PCs are a different kettle of fish, however, and Acer has just released a new one.

All-in-One PCs have all the capabilities of a desktop but crammed inside a much smaller, thinner physical footprint. Basically, a lot of space is saved.

That is why professional and business customers like to buy them, as they allow them to use the rest of their desk for other things and don’t occupy any of the space at their feet. All-in-One PCs also tend to work on less power than full desktops.

That is why Acer continues to offer such computers. The latest to leave its design labs is called Veriton Z4810G and measures 23 inches on the diagonal.

Between that size and the hardware specifications, the new Veriton Z4810G should position itself quite snugly in the middle range of the business computer sector.

Speaking of which, the hardware is built around an Intel Core i3 CPU, a quad-core with 3.0 GHz frequency by the name of Intel Core i3-4150T.

If you're only going for the basic configuration, with a price of $749 / €749, you get 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. However, if you want more, you can upgrade to 8 GB or 16 GB, for an extra fee.

Storage space is provided by a 5,400 RPM hard disk drive unit, as well as an optical drive, though you can connect external/portable drives, or anything else really, via the two USB 3.0 ports or one of the four USB 2.0 ports. Two mini PCI Express slots exist as well.

Speaking of connectors, there is an HDMI output, as well as DisplayPort and VGA for video. No need to be limited to a single display after all, even if it is a pretty decent one: an IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD resolution.

Other assets include removable feet, VESA wall mount support, an ErgoStand that can be adjusted -5 to 30 degrees, and wireless support (802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 Bluetooth 4.0).

The new Acer Veriton Z4810G all-in-one PC comes in two versions: the Z4810G-i3435TX that has 10-point multitouch support and the Z4810G-i34350X, which doesn't. The touch-less one costs $749 / €749, but the other one needs you to pay $879 / €879. Both ship with 2.0MP Full HD webcams that can rotate 180 degrees (good for video conferences, especially if you hang the display on a wall).
