While Acer's not necessarily known primarily as a projector manufacturer, the company did come up with quite a few devices of this type over time, the latest we've come across being the P5403 model, that delivers SXGA+ (1400×1050) resolution as well as multiple other attractive features on the side.

So, beside the resolution we've mentioned above, the Acer projector also delivers 3500 ANSI lumens brightness and a 3000:1 contrast ratio, which means that it's quite well suited for use with a wide variety of applications, from educational to enterprise and even home entertainment.

Moreover, the projector from Acer is what we like to call future-proof, given the fact that it packs DLP 3D Ready technology using high (120 Hz) refresh rates, combined with active-shutter glasses, but also an optimised 6-segment colour wheel design, a powerful image processor and an advanced lamp waveform to improve colour performance.

The Acer P5403 projector is totally compliant with the Crestron Network System, enabling a higher level of control of the projector's functions and features directly via the LAN interface (particularly useful when the device doesn't change its location too often).

Furthermore, the new projector from Acer also comes equipped with a HDMI port that provides seamless connection to the latest digital sources, while the True 24p feature allows the projector to display 24fps 1080p video content from a Blu-ray Disc player.

Additional features worth mentioning include the two built-in speakers (extremely useful during presentations, when images are associated to audio) as well as the Closed Caption system, that allows for the display of interpretive text on screen.

According to Acer, their P5403 video-projector will be available from mid-March with a suggested retail price of around 949.99 pounds sterling (1,527 US dollars), which is not exactly a very small sum, all things considered, but it's probably worth it, given this thing's features.
