Acer cannot be said to have held back in terms of product releases and preparations lately, so the new all-in-one systems that have emerged are just the latest in its string of new launches, troubled finances or no.
Users that like to keep track of the finances of their favorite companies might have learned about the recent results that Acer returned for the second quarter of 2011.
Simply put, the company
suffered serious losses, of over $230 million, due to business revisions and other factors.
Meanwhile, its sales, at least, don't seem to be doing too badly, and there is no sign that Acer has become any less determined than before.
In fact, the company appears to be particularly active, its latest move consisting of a pair of all-in-one PCs from the Aspire series.
Bearing the names of Z5801 (999 Euro) and Z3801 (799 Euro), they have screen sizes of 24 inches and 21.5 inches, respectively.
There is little that separates the two besides the screen size, that being the fact that the former has a pair of USB 3.0 ports and HDMI while the latter does not.
The rest of the specifications list is nothing to scoff at, however, since the second generation Intel Core CPU obviously needs matching resources.
That said, 8 GB of RAM are present, along with a SATA hard disk drive of up to 2 TB and an optical disk unit (DVD or Blu-ray).
There is also the option of having a discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics card added to the mix, provided the integrated Intel HD are insufficient.
Other specifications include Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 5W stereo speakers, webcam, Dolby Home Theater V4 technology and optional TV tuner.
Those who are more interested in portable systems might consider waiting for the thin
TravelMate Timeline 8481T, set for September.
