AMD proudly announced last night, November 15th, the immediate availability for download of the AMD Catalyst 11.11 video driver for Linux platforms, bringing initial support for openSUSE 12.1.

Scheduled to be released later today, the openSUSE 12.1 operating system is already supported in the new AMD Catalyst 11.11 video driver.

AMD Catalyst 11.11 also brings support for the XOrg Server 1.11, as well as OpenCL run-time integration. Moreover, a few other improvements and bugfixes are also present in the new AMD Catalyst 11.11.

Available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, the AMD Catalyst 11.11 video driver offers production support for the following Linux-based operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux, openSUSE Linux and Ubuntu Linux.

Had it installed works well, but Dual Monitor setup does what it wants and not what you tell it, it always labels VGA output as "default monitor" (in my case I need it to be DVI output as default) and there is no easy way to change that. Reverting back to opensuse driver which works out of the box, no problem setting primary output.
