Developer Discord Games LLC is seeking backing on Kickstarter for a new video game project called Chasm, which will use action role-playing game mechanics and will procedurally generate unique levels for players to enjoy.

The team states, “We are attempting to create an authentic retro experience similar to the games you remember. Chasm was heavily influenced by games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Diablo.”

The world of the game will be fantasy themed and players will need to play the role of a soldier who’s passing through a mining town and needs to solve the mystery of disappearing miners.

The dungeons will be created procedurally, Metroid style, and the developers are promising massive bosses, a lot of loot and plenty of character development options.

The team is asking for 150,000 dollars (110,000 Euro) and a demo is already available to sample.
