Archos' not quite content with prepping just an improved tablet for the next year's CES, and for this reason, they've also revealed the fact that they'll be outing a couple of new PMPs (portable media players), models 28 and 32, both of which, however, are powered by Google's Android OS. The ARCHOS 28 and 32 PMPs (rather pompously dubbed “internet tablets”) add a few extras to the basic MP3/MP4 player platform by featuring a WiFi connection and the Android framework, all the same price as a standard MP3 player.

With 8GB of storage, users can play and listen to over 4000 songs anywhere and with a variety of Android based applications they can also chat, game and partake in social networking from at home or on the go.

In fact, ARCHOS also includes their Music Cover Carrousel, a built-in music application that allows users to browse through album covers and add widgets to the home screen for instant access to media controls.

There’s also an email application to stay in touch and users can play all Android games including 3D titles thanks to the built-in accelerometer and 3D open GL technology.

Plus, the pocket sized “tablets” should also be quite easy to carry around, since the 28 internet tablet measures 3.9” x 2.1” x 0.35” and the 32 internet tablet measures 4.1” x 2.1” x 0.3”.

“We are proud to release the first connected Android PMP players with the ARCHOS 28 and 32 internet tablets” says Henri Crohas, CEO and Founder, adding that “MP3/MP4 users can now listen to their music while chatting and socializing with friends on the internet for an affordable price.”

As mentioned right from the start, the two new PMPs from Archos will be showcased at CES 2011 and will be available for $99.99 MSRP for the ARCHOS 28 internet tablet and $149.99 MSRP for the ARCHOS 32 internet tablet.
