Gigabyte is getting ready to show its latest AMD 780G motherboard to the world. GA-MA78GM-S2H, a micro-ATX board, supports the new AMD Phenom quad-core processors and features the latest AM2+ platform support. The multimedia enthusiasts are given an ideal choice not only by the use of the AMD Phenom CPU, but also by the possibilities opened by the integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 based GPU, with DirectX10 support, and also by the integrated DDR2 1066 memory controller.
Of course, the integrated graphics card may not seem too much for
some, but the motherboard also features a PCI Express x16 slot and supports Hybrid CrossFireX, which allows any user to employ one more GPU for better performance. The graphics card comes with the entire set of features that ATI has for its cards, ATI Hybrid CrossFireX, ATI SurroundView and ATI PowerPlay, all summoned together under the name ATI Hybrid Graphics Technology, created to fulfill user's needs in what concerns performance, multiple-monitor usage or power saving.
The Dual Channel DDR2 1066MHz memory architecture enables increased speed and higher data bandwidth needed when running demanding applications, and we should also note that the maximum of system memory rises up to 16GB. Given the supported processors, the north bridge AMD 780G chipset and south bridge AMD SB700 platform, GA-MA78GM-S2H also features HyperTransport 3.0 technology and 128-bit Floating Point Units. It also allows users to personalize system settings via two reliable and user friendly S features: Safe and Smart technology.
The motherboard has 5 SATA 3GBps slots which provide plenty of storage opportunities and an extra eSATA port on the back panel. Also, one IDE connector supporting two IDE devices can be plugged into the motherboard. There are up to 12 USB ports available, 4 on the back panel, 8 via USB brackets and 2 IEEE 1394a ports. The audio 7.1 board and Gigabit Ethernet controller make the completion of this motherboard.
GA-MA78GM-S2H has been launched in China and is already available for the European users. The price of the motherboard is quite low, as in Europe it can be purchased for about €76.
