Wireless services provider T-Mobile USA is expected to add a new set of smartphones to its offering in the near future, which would enable users to connect to its fast HSPA+ network, if some of the latest reports on the matter are to be believed.
Sometime in the second half of the ongoing year, the wireless carrier should launch devices that would arrive from leading handset vendors, including HTC Corporation, LG Electronics, or Samsung Elextronics.
A recent article on
DigiTimes cites sources familiar with the matter, which claim that these device will be soon released in those over 150 markets where
T-Mobile already offers 42Mbps HSPA+ connectivity capabilities.
HTC, Samsung and LG Electronics are among the first vendors in the world to venture into releasing smartphones that can offer support for 42Mbps networks, the news site notes.
At the moment, there are over 30
42Mbps HSPA+ networks operating around the world (US, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa), but the devices used to connect to them are dominated by mobile data cards or mobile routers.
However, mobile phones with support for these fast network speeds are also on their way to shelves, it seems.
T-Mobile already added to its offering a series of mobile phones that enabled users to access the fast speeds its 21Mbps HSPA+ has to offer, and is expected to soon up the ante with the release of even faster devices.
Last year, the wireless carrier launched a number of no less than 10 21Mbps-enabled smartphones coming from the aforementioned handset vendors.
Recently, the operator added a new set of smartphones to its offering, such as the HTC Sensation 4G, complemented by the soon-to-arrive
T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide, currently available for pre-order at the wireless carrier.
For the time being, no specific info on the upcoming mobile phones emerged, other than that they should be released in the coming months.
