Folks over at Macenstein say they have gotten hold of "the most realistic (but still probably fake) 3G iPhone pics" they've seen so far. Indeed, the images (courtesy of web-mobile) are as realistic as realistic gets, but they don't show a credible design for the actual device, not to mention written material indicating that this is indeed the new iPhone.

Let's not forget AT&T's promotional pictures either.
As everyone knows, leaked images get more accurate the closer we get to the unveiling.

"I can't tell if that is supposed to be white or gray, but the off-center video camera hole on the front of the unit looks oddly out of place given the rumored symmetrically-obsessed Mr. Jobs being listed as a co-inventor on the iPhone patent," the source notes. True, as another image reveals, the front

camera, intended for video chat, is a little off the Apple "charts" here. Also, it would put both cameras "more or less on the same side, on top of each other," the publication adds.

You have to agree that not even Apple can do this with a supposedly 22 percent thinner device. By the way, the iPhone presented in these images is actually rather fat, wouldn't you say? For the untrained eye, the pictures look quite legit. Who knows, they might even be legit, but the "asymmetry" doesn't stop here.

Macenstein reader Jordan points out that the video camera hole visible on the top right corner of the iPhone doesn't appear on the top right corner of the actual iPhone box picture. Therefore, Macenstein says they're fake. I'd say the iPhones just aren't ripe yet. The box did say "Do not open until June 10, 2008," did it not?

Whether they are fake or not, it really doesn't make much of a difference now - it's June 9th, 2008, the day Apple's long awaited World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to debut. It is widely believed that the new iPhone will be unveiled at this memorable event.
