Since just about everyone else had some 3D Blu-ray players in store for CES 2011, it's not really a big surprise that Panasonic also released a couple of products of this type, namely the DMP-BDT310, DMP-BDT210 and DMP-BDT110 models, accompanied by a 2D device, the DMP-BD75. Quite obviously, the main selling point these devices have to offer is represented by the 2D-3D Conversion, that can transform 2D images from DVDs and Blu-ray discs into 3D ones, while users will be able to easily control the amount of depth provided by the players via the 3D Effect Controller.

The new players leverage the image enhancing technologies available with the UniPhier chip and Adaptive Chroma Processing, while the HDMI Pure Audio improves sound quality.

They're also offering extensive Skype support (users can engage in Skype conversations right from their HDTV, with an optional camera attached) and access to the Viera Connect feature, via Wi-Fi (built-in for the BDT310 and BDT210), available via an adapter for the BDT110.

Additional interesting details worth mentioning include the fact that the BDT310 and BDT210 feature a Touch-Free Sensor to open and close the disc tray for smooth operation, while all the three new 3D Blu-ray Disc players work with an iPhone as a remote.

"Panasonic's 2011 Blu-ray Disc player lineup incorporates the successes of its 2010 line, while adding innovative features that meet the demand of consumers and new trends in technology," said Richard Simone, Vice President, Panasonic, Consumer Electronics Company, Merchandising, Imaging and Entertainment Products.

"Features such as the Touch-Free Sensor, Home Screen Wallpaper and Skype allow consumers to easily personalize their entertainment experience to fit their lifestyle. And now the consumer can enjoy the benefits of Skype from any HDTV," Mr. Simone added.

The Panasonic DMP-BDT310, DMP-BDT210, DMP-BDT110 and DMP-BD75 will be available in the spring of 2011, but specific availability dates or pricing details have not yet been provided.
