While most people who purchase a new HDTV tend to go for the widest displays available, there are still others who prefer a more affordable, and, if possible, all-in-one solution, this being exactly the segment targeted by Sceptre's GX-1 Series of Full HD LED TVs, that's just been extended with the addition of a 23-inch model. Featuring a sleek black finish, the lightweight combo unit is just .9” at its thinnest point and 2.15” at its thickest and can even transition quickly and conveniently into a monitor for PC gamers or office workers. In fact, one of the things that Sceptre's banking on for selling more combos of this type is the devices' level of versatility, the GX-I LED TVs fitting just about any type of décor, setting and usage scenario. As mentioned before, one of the main selling points of the GX-1 is the fact that it packs a built-in DVD player unit. So, in order to view DVDs, users will simply have to slide the disc into the thin slot located on the right side of the Sceptre GX-I LED television series, the built-in DVD player eliminating clutter from cords or external DVD devices. The new 23-inch model from Sceptre delivers a 16:9 Wide Screen aspect ratio, 5 ms response time, auto contrast enhancement and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, as well as 300 cd/m2 brightness level. Its two HDMI ports support up to 1080p, while the USB port delivers JPEG/Audio playback, and the SPDIF digital sound out allows users to easily hook this thing up to a full-fledged home entertainment system. Naturally, ATSC/NTSC/Clear QAM are also supported, while the 2 x 3W speakers should prove to be quite enough for a smaller room. The 23-inch LED combo TV will be available at various online retailers across the US for just $399 MSRP, which is a fairly OK price point, all things considered.
