Since USB 3.0 portable storage solutions have become so popular lately, Silicon Power decided that adding yet another offering of its type to its lineup is a very good idea and thus launched the Stream S10, a portable 2.5-inch 750GB hard drive whose exterior designed is inspired by Italian sports cars.

Focusing on light weight, trendy design and performance, the Stream S10 is the first release from the Stream series and extremely easy to carry around, since it measures 134.2 x 78.8 x 17.7 mm and weighs merely 145 grams, which is approximately 30% lighter than other 2.5-inch portable hard drives available in the market.

Additionally, the Stream S10 features sports car like LED status indicator lights (upon successful connection, LED turns blue and when transferring data, the blue LED flashes), a feature some users might actually find to be extremely interesting, as well as a paint coating that's allegedly fingerprint free.

Now, moving on to the technical specs, it's important to mention that the drive from Silicon Power is available in 320GB, 500GB, 640GB, 750GB storage capacities, while also providing data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.0 Mode) and 480 Mbps (USB 2.0 Mode), similar to most of the other SuperSpeed external storage solutions available out there.

Supported operating systems include Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, MacOS 10.3X above, Linux 2.6 31 and above, and the company also informs us that Stream 10 owners can download free of charge and make use of SP Widget, a powerful software that features seven major backup and security protection tools.

Unfortunately, Silicon Power has not provided any pricing and/or availability details for their Stream S10 USB 3.0 HDD, but we certainly hope that they do so in the near future, since we're talking about quite an interesting product, all things considered.
