While some SSDs are made to be jacks of all trades, some solid state drives can be best suited to certain tasks based on storage capacity and performance, and the one that Toshiba just made is one of the latter.

Said SSD, called PX03SN, comes in the usual 2.5-inch form factor, but uses SAS instead of SATA interface, marking it as an enterprise drive.

More importantly, it has a capacity well beyond the norm, of 1.6 TB, even though most don't go over 400-500 GB.

There are lower-capacity models of course (200 GB, 400 GB, 800 GB), but the point stands.

Thus, the Toshiba PX03SN series should perform best in online gaming servers, big data analytics, cloud computing, even online transactions.

Their endurance ranges from 30 to 10 DWPD (disk writes per day), but their prices aren't known.
