It employs SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology and can be colored in one of four hues

The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology is not underutilized anymore, but there isn't an alternative to it when it comes to external storage, not if you care a whit about compatibility. So ADATA's HV611 uses it, as expected.

The case might not fool you into thinking the drive really is made of several puzzle pieces, but it does make you wonder if storage will ever be modular like that in the future.

Anyway, the ADATA HV611 2.5-inch external hard drive has a capacity of 500 GB or 1 TB, depending on which model you prefer.

The puzzle pattern and rest of the case can be colored “cool black, starry white, shining blue, and hot pink.”

Also, there's a bright blue LED indicator on the top of the drive, near the front, which shows status (on for copy/writing, flickering for intermittent operations, off when the drive is, well, off).

Sadly, ADATA did not share the price of the 2.5-inch 500 GB and 1 TB external HDD, though it did mention the 3-year warranty and that buyers get free downloads of OStoGo and HDDtoGo software (backup, defrag, cloning and other utilities).

You should have an easy time taking along whichever HDD you buy everywhere.
