Although the PMP (portable multimedia player) segment has sort of slipped into the shadows over the past couple of years, due mostly to the advent of smartphones (capable of delivering roughly the same features, plus many more on the side) and multimedia tablets, Transcend has decided to add yet another such product to its lineup and introduced the MP870 digital music player. Transcend’s brand new MP870 digital music player comes with a 2.4-inch high-definition TFT screen and offers over 22 hours of music playback on a single battery charge. Featuring built-in memory up to 8GB and a microSD/microSDHC expansion slot, the MP870 allows users to store, enjoy and share more of their video, audio or picture collections anytime, anywhere. Aside from RM/RMVB that other brands rarely support, the MP870 is compatible with a variety of popular file formats such as MPEG4 SP (Xvid) and FLV files, as well as MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) and WMA-DRM10 protected music files. Thanks to its wide range of format compatibility, the new MP870 is giving music and video lovers unlimited portable entertainment that they have never experienced before. For added value, the versatile MP870 incorporates a convenient line-in function that can be used to record music from an external source such as a CD player. The player also includes a speaker and a microphone, FM radio, a voice recorder, a page-by-page text file reader, and synchronized lyrics display with support for 13 different languages. The intuitive interface and navigation buttons make the MP870 even easier to use, since users just have to press the center button to play and pause, and press the outer buttons to skip forward and back. Transcend MP870 digital music player is now available in two capacities, 4GB (black) and 8GB (White), but pricing details have not yet been provided.
