Micro-Star International isn't new to the gaming laptop business, so it isn't that surprising to hear that two of its newest notebooks have reached the shores of the US, but the newest duo definitely doesn't compromise.

Even though gaming hardware and computers usually imply a higher than average price point, there is still concern for at least mild affordability, usually.

There are, however, some products that don't really bother with staying at accessible price points, aiming exactly for prospective purchasers with no financial concerns.

It is the second so-called category that the MSI GT780R and GX780 fit into, them being 17-inch, mighty laptops, complete with design enhancements.

“Serious gamers understand that not all notebooks are created equally,” said Andy Tung, vice president of sales, MSI US. “The GT780R and GX780 are built specifically for gamers, with a professionally-designed keyboard, plus top-of-the-line graphics and processing power from NVIDIA and Intel.”

The professionally-designed keyboard in question is Steel-Series-enhanced, with 30-color LED backlight and large CTRL and ALT keys. Its most important asset is the ability to keep track of up to 10 keys pressed at the same time.

The CPU is the Core i7-2630QM processor (2.0 GHz base clock speed) while the memory amount, storage and video differ for each machine.

The GX780 is the more modest of the two, with a 750 GB HDD, a 1GB GeForce GT 555M, 12 GB of RAM and a price of $1,550, while the GT780R has 16 GB RAM, 1 TB storage and the 1.5 GB GeForce GTX 560M (the price is $1,750).

Other specifications that apply to both newcomers include Full HD support for the displays (1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution), anti-reflective coating for said panels, HDMI 1.4, Bluetooth, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, a 720m webcam and a 9-cell battery. All the hardware is packed inside a brushed aluminum frame.
