The development team at Cryptic Studios and publisher Perfect World Entertainment have announced that they are working on a new class for their MMO Neverwinter, called the Scourge Warlock, which will be introduced when the new Tyranny of Dragons expansion launches.

The new content will be introduced on August 14 and will contain a variety of other new mechanics and rewards for gamers who are looking to spend more time in the world of the game.

The developers are saying that “The Scourge Warlock is a powerful magic user who plies dark magical abilities, communing with shadowy benefactors to destroy all who would dare stand in their way. A powerful striker who focuses on dealing heavy damage to both single and grouped foes, the Scourge Warlock wields a myriad of options to deal with adversaries using their powerful Warlock's Curse.”

The new Tyranny of Dragons content is just the start of a bigger Season of Dragons campaign for Neverwinter, which is set to run until December 31 of this year.

Neverwinter is an MMO that uses a free-to-play business model and takes players to one of the most well-known cities of the Forgotten Realms setting from the Dungeons & Dragons universe.

Gamers can create a variety of characters, and the new Scourge Warlock will add even more content for them to explore.
