Neverwinter Nights 2 Reviewer Gone Amok

1up.com not happy with their editorial staff

Not everything is going swell for 1up.com, in spite of the fact that they received a PS3 from Sony. Looks like their editorial staff is not on the same page, as they recently decided to pull one of their reviews.

To be more specific, the review in question was done
for Neverwinter Nights 2. The author of this review is Matt Peckham, or should I say was, as the material will not be printed anymore. The original plan was for the review to appear in the January issue of Games For Windows: The Official Magazine.

I must admit that I haven't read this review in time, and I can't analyze it anymore, as it was pulled out of 1up.com website. The guys over at 1up mention that, due to "not so good" feedback on behalf of their community, they decided to review the text in question, and - after a detailed analysis - thought that it would be better for the review to be pulled out.

They explained that they discussed with Games For Windows editors also, and made a mutual agreement not to publish the review. Supposedly, the Neverwinter Nights review did not live up to their editorial standards.

What exactly did that poor guy do? He went amok or something and bashed the game that bad? Anyway, 1up assigned another editor for a new review, one that lives up to their editorial standards, and it will appear on 1up website next week and in the January issue of Games For Windows.

I am not sure if anyone is still interested in this, but I have to admit that I pretty much agree with Matt Peckham's article. You can check it out at SciFi. Just go to the website, click on reviews, and do a search for Neverwinter Nights 2. There are far too many bugs in the game, including one that has a tendency to corrupt save games from time to time. At any rate just check it out and see for yourself.
