iPhone / iPod touch owners, prepare to get yourself a free game much like Sega's Super Monkeyball, and start tilting your device from left to right to roll a ball through an obstacle course running against the clock - Neverball for iPhone is HERE!

The gameplay is fairly similar to that of Sega's Super Monkeyball,
demonstrated multiple times at Apple's events. Players must tilt the floor to roll a ball through an obstacle course before time runs out. The game combines puzzle elements, but action game features as well, making it a true "test of skill," developer Robert Kooima says. The current version includes 75 Neverball levels and 62 Neverputt levels. Pasi Kallinen is credited for having contributed with 2 new complete putt courses to the game.

While the game was originally developed by Robert Kooima, Lazrhog is responsible for the iPhone port. This took him "an enourmous [sic] amount of effort," he claims, which is why donations are much appreciated. "I am hoping to raise enough money to get a Macbook, so I can continue developing apps once 2.0 becomes Jailbroken, or even for putting on the Appstore for free," the developer claims, promising to update the website with an ongoing total, so you can track his progress.

Neverball for iPhone and iPod touch is open source. The source code for Neverball will be released "once the porting and App Store activities have taken place," says Lazrhog.

Download Neverball from here for free. The game is said to run under Linux, Win2K/XP, FreeBSD and, of course OS X. Hardware accelerated OpenGL is required, while a 500MHz processor is recommended.

Windows users NOTE: The Windows binary packages include all necessary DLLs for SDL and its related libraries. However, some of the game binaries were build using Visual Studio 7.1, and may require MSVCR71.DLL. These packages do not provide this DLL. It maybe acquired by installing the .Net Framework, Office .Net, or Visual Studio .Net.
