Evernote has announced a new application for iPhone called Hello. It helps you remember the people you meet every day by keeping track of shared experiences, as well as thoughts and impressions about your encounters with them.

The people behind the popular Evernote application launched a few years ago and now spread worldwide on any platform you can imagine are proud to introduce Hello, a piece of iOS software that aims to modernize the standard greeting ritual.

As the video embedded below shows, when two people meet, they can exchange phones and quickly create a basic profile about themselves.

Once added to Evernote Hello, people are displayed within a swipeable mosaic of faces.

You can tap a face to bring up that person’s profile, including a history of every encounter you’ve shared. It also points to other people who may have participated in the same meeting.

The app offers location information, as well as any other related content from the user's Evernote account, such as photos and different types of notes.

Commenting on their new release, Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote, remarked: "The challenge with meeting new people is that we rarely remember all the critical information. We remember the face, but forget the name. We remember the name, but forget where we met. We remember the meeting, but forget the other participants. Evernote Hello is a modern fix to this classic frustration.”

“It is designed to work the way our brains are wired, with a focus on faces and experiences. I'm excited to never forget a person again,” added Libin.

The developers are proud to add Hello to their increasing library of iOS apps and, wouldn’t you know it, the people and encounters captured in Evernote Hello are synchronized to your main Evernote service, which means you can access Hello info even if you don’t have your iPhone with you.

The free Evernote Hello app is available via the link below. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
