Netrunner, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Kubuntu, featuring KDE as the default desktop environment, and integrating many GNOME/GTK+ programs to make it Ubuntu compatible, is now at version 4.1.

Everyone is switching now to hybrid ISOs and this is one of the biggest change in Netrunner 4.1.

Besides the Hybrid ISO system, the distribution also has a brand new Linux kernel, version 3.0.0.15, which is a big leap forward. The previous release, Netrunner 4.0, had a Linux kernel in the 3.x series, but the developers didn’t specify what version was at that time.

Other important changes in Netrunner 4.1 (Dryland) is the introduction of KDE SC 4.7.4, Muon 1.2.95, kde-gtk-config module which provides easy GTK2 and GTK3 configuration under KDE SC, and several bugfixes, including system freezes during automatic update.

Download Netrunner 4.1 right now from Softpedia, either for 32-bit or 64-bit platforms.
