Netlist, a memory manufacturer who specializes in developing high-performance enterprise DIMM solutions, has jut announced the availability of its HyperStream low latency registered memory modules designed especially for the HPC segment.

HyperStream RDIMMs are available from Netlist in standard 1333MHz 4GB and 8GB DDR3 1333MT/s and 1440MT/s configurations, in both low profile and ultra-low profile form factors.

The first of them measures 30mm in height, while the latter has a height of only 19mm. No information regarding the timings these RDIMM modules operate at was made available.

No matter the form factor used, all of Netlist's HyperStream solutions have been certified by the Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL), an independent test lab for memory modules and motherboard compatibility testing.

CMTL has confirmed Netlist's 4GB and 8GB HyperStream memory products are compatible with standard Intel Xeon 5500 and 5600 server motherboards.

Netlist's registered dual in-line memory modules (RDIMMs) are designed to be used in space constrained, high-end servers, blades and workstations.

"Financial services, oil and gas, and other high-performance computing (HPC) end user application benchmarking shows the performance benefits HyperStream offers," said Steve McClure, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Netlist.

"HyperStream's increased memory bandwidth and reduced latency can provide significant competitive advantage in financial markets and reduced runtimes in large grid HPC modeling," concluded the company's rep.

The HyperStream memory modules are now available from Dell's Software and Peripherals Group and pricing is available upon request.

Netlist also announced today that a major financial services firm has completed evaluation and made its first purchase of HyperStream memory for deployment in its datacenter.
