Netgear has recently released firmware version 2.2.9 for their PTV3000 wireless display adapter. The update comes with a long list of fixes, from which Miracast support stands out.

Beside the mentioned addition, HDCP connection error issue with some Sony mobile phones has been fixed, as well as the system lockup issue after wrong PIN entry.

With this firmware installed, both PIN and PBC methods for WPS are supported in Miracast. The device automatically communicates with the source device (mobile phone, tablet or laptop) to determine which WPS method to use.

Other fixes include issues regarding cursor position not being updated until "resize TV picture" takes place, kernel panic issue that drives the system into a non-responsive state or connecting screen appears after a session teardown on Windows 7 laptop.

Regional domain control has been implemented so shipping to Europe Australia and Canada is now available. Localization support for international languages is another new addition in this sector.
