If you’re one of the many users of Netflix on Windows 8.1, you should be happy to find out that a new version of the application is now being delivered through the store.

As usual, not much is known about this update, but it’s probably safe to assume that it brings fixes and performance improvements, thus improving the overall experience with the app on both desktops and tablets.

Netflix for Windows 8.1 is completely free, but a subscription is still needed if you’d like to watch your favorite TV shows and movies right in the modern UI.

Of course, the feature lineup remains completely unchanged, which means that you get the same easy-to-use options to browse videos, search for titles, and rate shows on Windows 8.1.

“Netflix is the world’s leading subscription service for watching TV episodes and movies. Get the free app as a part of your Netflix membership and you can instantly watch thousands of TV episodes & movies,” the app description published in the store now reads.

A one-month trial is also offered to new users, so in case you haven’t already purchased a subscription, you can now download Netflix for Windows 8.1 and watch your favorite shows absolutely free of charge for no less than 30 days.
