The inflow of new tablets seems hardly over, as even Netbook navigator decided to make its own contribution by releasing not one or two, but three distinct slates, all of them powered by Intel CPUs.
As end-users know, it was no news that CES 2011 would be the site where many tablets would be introduced.
Indeed, dozens of such devices have already been released and will continue to be released.
That said, Netbook Navigator chose to openly detail its own inventions, the so-called NAV7, NAV9 and NAV10i.
Their names are linked to their screen sizes, meaning that they measure 7 inches, 8.9 inches and 10.1 inches, respectively.
The NAV7 has an Intel Atom Z515 central processing unit at its heart, whose clock speed is of 1.3 GHz.
Said CPU is backed up by 1 or 2 GB of RAM and paired with a solid state drive with a capacity of 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB.
Additionally, Netbook Navigator implemented capacitive touch support, plus Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11n WiFi and optional 3G, as well as a 1.3 megapixel webcam.
Finally, two USB 2.0 ports are present and all the hardware is crammed inside a case measuring 0.7 inches in thickness.
The other two devices have fairly similar configurations, except that they use different processors.
The NAV9 boasts the 1.66 GHz Atom N450, while the NAV10i has the N455, which supports DDR3 memory.
Regardless, they are all pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and the NAV UI (user interface), optimized for touch input. The press release did not have any pricing details.
“The NAV UI software interface will only be made available exclusively on these 3 tablet devices, and will feature a navigation system that will allow users to easily manage multiple PC applications simultaneously, and browse files, folders and apps with the swipe of a finger,” says the press release.
