One of the most popular mobile browsers all around the world is the NetFront solution from Access, which is already available on various operating systems on the market, including Windows Mobile, on which users can enjoy the 3.5 version of the browser at the moment. However, it seems that this should change in the near future, as the company is getting ready to release the 4.0 flavor of NetFront for handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system.

According to a recent post on phonescoop, Access will soon add quite a few new features to its NetFront browser for Windows Mobile. The upcoming 4.0 version of the application is expected to arrive with up to 20 times faster JavaScript performance when compared to the previously available NetFront 3.5. For what it's worth, that alone should make a great deal of users out there rejoice, yet the company has more up its sleeve for them.

Here's what phonescoop has to say on the matter: “This JavaScript improvement, combined with the smoothed web page scrolling, animated web page zooming, and smooth panning and navigating around web pages, greatly improves the mobile browsing experience. Access says that it is making a six-month trial version of NetFront 4.0 available to Windows Mobile devices starting today, with other platforms to follow in the coming months.”

In other words, users will be able to tryout the new flavor of the browser, but the solution will be delivered as part of the company's beta program, something that most of you might be already accustomed with. On the other hand, there will also be a new API for NetFront 4.0 coming from the company, offering wireless carriers and handset makers the possibility to perform an upgrade of the existing NetFront 3.5 devices to the new NetFront 4.0 solution. Access seems determined to prove that its browser is a great competitor against other powerful solutions like Opera or BOLT, the new NetFront 4.0 browser is yet another step it takes on that road.
