The Nest “learning” thermostat designed and co-developed by former Apple employee Tony Fadell is heading to Apple stores, where you’ll be able to buy it for $249.99, or about 200 EUR.

Confirmed by 9to5mac’s sources, the move is not to be considered a gesture of goodwill on behalf of Apple for their beloved former employee, whom many regard as the father of the iPod.

This one-of-a-kind device not only features a sleek design, but also integrates with the iPhone and iPad allowing owners to control their home appliances through an intuitive interface. It may well bolster Apple's sales too.

It’s called the “learning” thermostat because, as its makers put it, “[it] programs itself in a week and turns itself down when you’re away.” They claim that three out of four people can install the hardware in less than 30 minutes.
