Neonode, the Sweden-based company that manufactures and distributes the Neonode N2 touchscreen handset, has released today a firmware update for the N2, which brings a set of nice improvements.

The new firmware update (version 2.1.552.2) can be downloaded for free from Neonode's website (found at this address) and will bring you the following:

- a new WAP browser, made by Winwap Technologies Oy to offer a better browsing experience;

- a new and improved Music Player that features detailed cataloging;

- revamped sweep indicators and an overall enhanced user interface;

- an Audio Recorder app;

- text messaging enhancements (thanks to an enlarged writing area);

- and, finally, a Sudoku game.

In addition to the above-mentioned improvements, the Neonode N2 firmware update will also bring support for new languages, raising their total number to 16: English, Swedish, Spanish (both for Spain and Mexico), French, Portuguese (both for Portugal and Brazil), Italian, Standard and New Norwegian, German, Dutch, Russian, Greek, Czech and Bulgarian. The phone's interface allows users to easily change the languages, with only one touch.

Measuring only 77 x 47 x 14.7 millimeters and weighing about 60 grams, Neonode N2 is among the smallest handsets currently on the market. Its features include a 2 inch TFT touchscreen display with 176 x 220 pixels and 65K colors, an intuitive User Interface called Neno, a 2 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Music and Video players, SMS and MMS capabilities, calendar, address book, a 1GB miniSD card and quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS.

Those who want to buy a new Neonode N2 can find it on the manufacturer's official website, priced at 339 Euros (535 USD) and unlocked. Besides the original black Neonode N2, the handset is also available in other four colors: Lime, Azure (blue), Rubine (red) and Roza (pink).
