NeoOffice.org this week offers Patch 1 for NeoOffice 3.4.1, the latest free version of the group’s open source productivity suite (similar to LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice). This release deals a blow to many known crashing bugs, an annoying scrolling issue, and a specific problem under OS X Mavericks.

If you’re experiencing slow scrolling when swiping on the trackpad Patch 1 should fix it. Go ahead and download NeoOffice 3.4.1 Patch 1 and give it a try. Although this is the purpose of the update, several other bugs are addressed as well.

“In addition to the slow scrolling bug, NeoOffice 3.4.1 Patch 1 fixes the following bugs,” says the development team.

NeoOffice.org mentions occasional hangs when dragging an image within a particular Writer document, crashes when pressing an arrow key in an empty field or when opening a particular .svg image file with gradients, duplicate documents in the Mac OS X Versions browser each time a document is saved, an unclosable window if the document window was closed while in the Mac OS X Versions browser, and more.

Specifically for Mavericks users, “NeoOffice would sometimes display a blank popover window when clicking on the downward arrow icon next to the document name in a document window's titlebar while running on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks,” the team states.
