NeoOffice 3.1.1 Brings New Features to Mobile Client, Native Mac OS X Text Highlighting

Integrating Mac-native features, NeoOffice is based on the OpenOffice.org office suite. The software boasts the ability to import, edit and exchange files with other office apps. Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are supported, as are Excel VBA Macros. The software requires that you have at least 512 MB of memory and 400 MB of free disk space.

The team of developers maintaining the software has issued a new version, NeoOffice 3.1.1, adding new features to NeoOffice mobile, and native Mac OS X text highlighting. The release notes also mention “Open Calc or Impress instead of Writer at launch.”

NeoOffice Mobile is web-based and works by allowing users to “publish” a document from within NeoOffice to the NeoOffice Mobile server using a secure, encrypted connection.
