NeoOffice 3.0.1 Patch 3 Available for Download

The development team responsible for the popular Mac OS X suite of office applications, NeoOffice.org, has released Patch 3 into the wild, providing additional maintenance to what is a constantly under-development project. The release notes for the update were unavailable at the time of the writing. However, the patch is available immediately for all NeoOffice 3.0.1 users.

NeoOffice is based on the OpenOffice.org office suite, integrating native Mac features. The program suite boasts the ability to import, edit and exchange files with other office apps. Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are supported, as are Excel VBA Macros. The software requires that you have at least 512 MB of memory and 400 MB of free disk space.

NeoOffice fans should note that, due to very low donation levels this year, the team responsible with the software has been forced to make severe cutbacks in the services that it provides to users (learn more here). Also noteworthy is the availability of NeoOffice Mobile, a solution that provides a way to securely share NeoOffice files with other users and other computers. NeoOffice Mobile is web-based and works by allowing users to “publish” a document from within NeoOffice to the NeoOffice Mobile server using a secure, encrypted connection.
