Get a free 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to celebrate the anniversary of the online game

Need for Speed World, the free-to-play online racing game made by Electronic Arts, is turning two years old this week and, in order to celebrate the title’s massive success, the publisher is offering all sorts of free goodies to players.

Need for Speed World started off as an attempt to diversify the racing franchise and ended up one of the most profitable free-to-play experiences offered by Electronic Arts, allowing players to race against others without paying a subscription and only charging them money for special in-game currency called SpeedBoost or unique cars.

Now, after reaching over 16 million registered users and other such impressive figures, which you can check out in the image above, EA is celebrating the two-year anniversary of NFS World by offering lots of free stuff.

These goodies include:

- The release of the all new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, given to players for free - The launch of Double XP Week. Between today and Friday, July 27 players will earn double XP in every adrenaline-fuelled race event, action packed Team Escape and white knuckled cop pursuit - The long awaited release of the all new Free Cam feature, allowing players to take control of the game camera to snap shots of their customized ride in action Until Friday, July 27, players should log into the game in order to receive other free items, like “customized license plates, neons, vinyls and even Need for Speed World in-game currency, SpeedBoost.”

In case you forgot, Need for Speed World boasts quite an impressive car roster of over 120 licensed cars, as well as all sorts of racing events, not to mention challenges and even a Free Roam mode, which allows players to explore the world, in order to find special gems.

Expect more free goodies to be offered until Friday, July 27.
