Craig Sullivan, the creative director working on Need for Speed: Rivals, says that the racing title will run at native 1080p on both the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The game is powered by the Frostbite 3 engine that DICE has created for Battlefield 4 and is designed to use all the power offered by the new generation of consoles.

The developer is quoted by VG247 as saying that, "they both have their quirks, and I’m sure they will both be reviewed side by side and people will put our game side by side on both platforms – I know Battlefield’s getting a lot of that."

Need for Speed: Rivals is a racing title that's created by a new studio called Ghost, designed to appeal to those who want to experience a number of events from the perspective of both cop and outlaw driver.

The game will be offered at launch on both the Xbox One and the PS4.
