The new racing game is quite limited on the PC platform

Need for Speed: Rivals on the PC platform has a locked framerate of 30fps despite the fact that the game runs on Frostbite 3, an engine that's more than capable of running at higher framerates on that platform, as seen with Battlefield 4.

NFS: Rivals is the next iteration in the racing franchise, and Electronic Arts tasked its new Ghost Games division with creating a great title across the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.

After already appearing on PS4 last week, the game is now being rolled out for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One this week.

According to PC owners who have already tried out the game, the title is rather surprisingly locked at a 30fps framerate, just like on next-gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One, as you can see in the screenshot above via NeoGAF.

The decision is a bit baffling, considering that other Frostbite 3-powered games, like Battlefield 4, have an unlocked framerate on PC.
